Sanyo Bails Out Of OLED Business

Sanyo announced it will dissolve its OLED joint venture with Kodak. The two companies partnered to produce organic electroluminescent displays in 1999, but the venture was not successful for long. Sales for last financial year were near zero. Kodak will continue to manufacture and license the technology, which analysts predict could become successful with the right partners. Qualcomm To Work With Competing Mobile TV Standard

Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs today admitted the company is working on DVB-H mobile TV chips. The chipmaker has not announced any models yet, but Jacobs said it was in Qualcomm`s best interest to support the rival format because it could "boost uptake of mobile TV in general."
